If you throw a frog into a pot of boiling water the frog will immediately jump out to safety. But if you place a frog into a pot of room temperature water, then turn-up the heat, the frog will stay in the pot all the way to the boiling point and eventually perish.
Everyday things change, but we typically are not paying enough attention to notice. Most of us take notice when these shifts are abrupt; from extreme weather changes, earthquakes or tidal waves, to the introduction of new and disruptive technologies. But the changes to our everyday lives are actually happening slowly, over a prolonged period of time, and through a series of events that may not make the news.
We are the frogs unable to feel the water boiling around us. This blog is devoted to talking about the frog, the pot, and the boiling water, how we got to where we are, and will attempt to forecast where we are headed.
